After selling 18 million albums worldwide and garnering five Grammy nominations, James Blunt may be ready to call it quits on the music industry. The 38-year-old singer/songwriter hints he's ready to go into early retirement in order to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

"I just want to take some time out for myself," James told Mail Online at a nightclub event in West London. "I haven't got any plans to do more songwriting. I have been chilling out since I finished my world tour and I've spent a lot of time in Ibiza, where I have a villa."

After the news was published by Mail Online, Blunt took to his Twitter and Facebook accounts to post this cryptic message; "The Mail on Sunday has reported that James Blunt has split up due to musical differences. Neither could be reached for comment due to recording commitments. - at Conway Recording Studios."

Blunt started his music career in 2002 upon leaving the British Army after six years of service. Since the release of his 2004 debut, Back to Bedlam, the "You're Beautiful" singer put out All the Lost Souls in 2007 and Some Kind of Trouble in 2010.

It's amazing how many ignorant, miserable, angry and obviously very jealous people there are posting on this article. Derogatory and negative comments are a direct result of people being unhappy with themselves and
pissed because they never had success in their lives. James Blunt wrote songs and lyrics that 80% of the population wouldn't ever understand because they are too deep for their simple minds to comprehend. His experiences in war and seeing the mass destruction of innocent lives is far too complex for average people
to fathom. Instead of being ignorant and making rude comments, maybe you should google his name and understand what inspired his music and appreciate him as an artist, songwriter and musician that he is.

Good for him! I've always wondered why so many entertainers who rise to fame quickly and are amply rewarded monetarily continue to linger in "the industry" when they really don't have to financially. If he's achieved what he wants to musically, why not move on and live (within your means) a life that makes you happy? Go, James, and enjoy your villa in the Mediterranean. Sounds pretty darn good to me! Oh, and thanks for the line, "Beautiful Dawn." People often sing that to my daughter (whose name, not surprisingly, Dawn, and is quite beautiful!) and it always makes me smile!

Fine by me, nobody liked "You're Beautiful" anyway, he sounded like a caffeinated goat, don't know what those label people saw in him, radio stations still play that stupid song, too bad, nothing staler than yesterday's leftovers
