Gawker published a clip of the video under the headline, "Justin Timberlake's $6.5 Million Italian Wedding Featured a Video of Sad L.A. Vagrants Wishing Him Well." The site has since been slapped with a cease-and-desist order from the lawyers of the man who made the controversial video for Mr. and Mrs. Timberlake, friend Justin Huchel.
In the letter, Huchel's attorney, Michael J. Saltz, described the video as "a protected copyright work" and insisted, "Mr. Huchel made a video to be used and exhibited privately at Justin Timberlake's wedding as a private joke without Mr. Timberlake's knowledge. Further, Mr. Huchel informs us that his copyrighted video was recently stolen."
Timberlake himself has issued an apology for the offensive video, although he insists it was not show at his luxurious Italian ceremony. He penned a letter on his official website, which at press time, is causing the entertainer's page to crash.
"I was always taught that we as people, no matter what your race, sex, or stature may be, are equal," JT insists. "I think we can all agree that it was distasteful," he said of the video.
They say you're only as good as the company you keep, JT. What do you have to say to that? "My friends are good people. This was clearly a lapse in judgment which I'm sure no one who is reading this is exempt from. But, I don't believe it was made to be insensitive," he insists. "You can bet your ass that I'm having my friend do at least 100 hours of community service... Boom."
