Justin Bieber, Meltdown: Singer Shoots Down Rumors That He's Going Down Same Path as Britney Spears

After Justin Bieber threw up on stage at his first Believe kickoff tour stop, rumors flooded the blogsophere that Justin was hitting a breaking point or heading to a meltdown, like many singers before him have unfortunately went through.

But in a new interview with The U.K.'s Daily Mail, Justin denied that he was on a brink to "pull a Britney" (Britney had famously shaved her head during a low point of her career) when he got sick on stage. "I'm not going to shape my life around what people might be thinking," he said. "Whatever happens, happens."

Justin went on to explain that he's worked too hard to just crack under the pressure, and how music helped save him. "I've been working since I was 13...I wasn't good at school because I had no passion for it," he shared. "If I hadn't found music, my life would have been bad. My family are all poor, so the cycle would have continued. My kids would have been poor, and their kids would have been too. I feel I broke the cycle, and when you get to break the cycle, you don't go back.'

And as for the rumors that JB is worried and stressed about competition from boy bands like One Direction and The Wanted, Justin shot those down as well. "I am not threatened by anybody; no one can threaten me," he said. "It's actually cool to have other young people on the scene. I've spent years being the only one at all these awards shows – now there are other people my age. I hang out with One Direction, and the guys from The Wanted are fun, really funny guys."

And to keep himself successful, Justin says he avoids partying. "I keep my distance when they [The Wanted] go to clubs to have their fun – I go home," he said. "Drinking is definitely one way, but it's not for me. I still want people to think I'm a good person, a good influence. I want to be around tomorrow."

In other Justin news, the singer was recently inked with a new tattoo. The Biebs showed off an owl on his arm in an Instagram picture, making this his eighth tattoo. No word on the significance of an owl to him, but he did re-tweet a fan who said an owl symbolized "wise, magestic and powerful."
