Justin Bieber Concert: Hurricane Sandy Victims Attend Brooklyn Show

For Laurie Gjenashaj, a 37-year-old Staten Island resident whose home was ravaged by Hurricane Sandy, last night's (Nov. 12) Justin Bieber concert at Brooklyn's Barclays Center was a bit of sunshine after the rain.

"I'm homeless, I'm broke, but I'm here," Gjenashaj told the Daily News at the Believe Tour show. Before the devastating hurricane, Gjenashaj and her family bought Bieber concert tickets with family friends from Staten Island, who have also been displaced by the storm.

"We've had these tickets from when they first got on sale -- they were in the kitchen," she said. "When the water came up, everything was submerged." Luckily, the eBay vendor who sold the families the concert tickets was sympathetic and managed to send new copies.

Gjenashaj and her friends chaperoned their five young children at the concert and held up signs for the pop star. "I don't know if this makes sense. Sandy made us homeless and broke but you're our hallelujah," one sign read, borrowing lyrics from Bieber's "As Long as You Love Me" single.

"I closed my eyes while Hurricane Sandy took my home away ... I closed my eyes prayed we live to see tomorrow right here with you is our brighter day," another poster read, playing off his song, "Pray."
