In an interview that was filmed a few weeks before the big news hit that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had broken up, Justin sat down with Oprah on a "Oprah's Next Chapter" segment and was an open book when it came to his then-relationship with the tween queen.

The sit-down talk with Oprah aired last night (Nov. 25), and gives an inside look at how happy the "Boyfriend" singer was while dating Selena. When Oprah asked him what made him want to date Selena, he replied, "I am all about genuine people, and I feel like she's just one of the most genuine people. She just has a good heart. And I can talk to her about anything."

In an earlier segment with Oprah, Justin had shared that he never wanted to make it seem like he was "ashamed" of Selena, so he always made sure to have her by his side.

It was clear that Selena played a crucial part in Justin's sometimes-crazy life. "I really don't have a lot of friends. I have three close friends," he opened up. "I try to be as normal as I can with the abnormal life that I have. It's definitely not normal and there's so many sacrifices that I've had to do, but at the end of the day, I've been able to do so much, that I would have never been able to do."

Justin even addressed death threats that Selena received after being spotted out with him and how important it is to make his fans happy. "I'm always thoughtful about my fans," he said. "People will say means things but I need to be happy. I can't be single my own life. If I can be with everybody, with all of the fans I could!"

Discussing the topic of marriage, Oprah asked Justin to reconsider his hopes to get married by age 25. "I think 25's too young," she told the 18-year-old.

He answered, "You are Oprah and you're telling me not to get married at 25. I should probably listen to you. We'll see when I get there, but I'm not there yet."

Justin also discussed feeling lonely in the limelight to Oprah, leaving fans to wonder if he's feeling extra sad these days after tough times with Sel. "You just feel sometimes you need someone to be there with you," he said. "Some days you've gone through, you have pain in your heart because maybe you haven't dealt with that. Some days you're depressed and you don't know why because you haven't dealt with it."

After eating French fries at Ralph Lauren's RL restaurant in Chicago, Ill. with Oprah, Justin performed an acoustic version of "As Long as You Love Me" to fans.

Justin and Selena haven't been spotted together since being seen holding hands after the American Music Awards.
