Nicole Scherzinger, One Direction: 'X Factor' Judge Wants Cut of Boy Band's Earnings?

As One Direction continues to make headlines and top the charts, one fellow pop act is trying to ride the boy band's gravy train! Nicole Scherzinger is speaking out about her hand in the group's formation back in 2010, going so far as to suggest she deserves a cut of 1D's earnings.

Now an official judge on "The X Factor U.K.," Nicole was once a fill-in for then-judge Cheryl Cole while Cole was suffering from malaria. The seventh season of the reality singing competition saw Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson all audition as solo acts that didn't quite cut the mustard.

This is when an idea bulb allegedly went off in Scherzy's head, as she suggested the boys form a group and try their luck in the competition as a boy band.

"Simon Cowell forgets that, too," Nicole tells Britain's Fabulous magazine of the "X Factor" boss who signed 1D to his Syco Records label following their third place finish on the show. "Or he's trying to forget that. I think they said the footage of me suggesting it mysteriously disappeared!"

"I just thought, 'Wow, these boys!'" Nicole recalled. "None of them were strong enough to make it through, but they'd make a killer group. All the girls are going to want to see these guys in a band together. And look at what they've done."

"I'm just really sad that I don't have a piece of it!" Nicole adds. Do we smell a lawsuit coming on?

Yeah of course she wants so of the money. I want some of their money too since I've supported their career by buying their music on Itunes- Nicole, this is not showing u in a good light. If you really had something to do with their formation you would have said it a lot earlier. Simon is the one who took them to the finale, Simon is the one who signed them- you were there for a short period as a guest judge and then you think you deserve some of their earning. Why don't you continue judging and start singing more and then you'll some more money but leave 1D alone
