This past Monday (Dec. 10), Michael Buble's Christmas program aired on NBC, and many people were surprised to see the furry Muppet Elmo make an appearance.

The "Sesame Street" puppet's creator, Kevin Clash, has been embroiled in scandal for the past month. Accusations of underage sex abuse have ended the beloved puppeteer's career and more young men are stepping forward, claiming they'd been abused by Clash.

Despite the ongoing claims, Buble never thought twice about including Elmo in his holiday broadcast.

"There was never a discussion to lose him," Buble tells Xfinity's TV Blog.

"The truth is, Elmo didn't do anything. He's a three-year-old monster. He's innocent, sweet, and funny -- and very polite, too ... the deal is that Elmo is featured on my special and that's kind of how I really felt about it. [The performance is] so warm and sweet. It really is a beautiful moment. I think people will enjoy it."

The singer's NBC special also features Rod Stewart, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Blake Shelton. Check out the whole thing below.
