L.A. Reid Quits 'The X Factor'

L.A. Reid is sticking with his day job!

With less than a week before the season two finale of the U.S. "The X Factor," the judge has decided he will not be returning to the show.

Reid had a successful first season, signing three runners-up and distributing season winner Melanie Amaro's album. However, it appears his first priority is his job as chairman and CEO of Epic Records.

"I have a company to run that I've kind of neglected," he told Access Hollywood.

While we're disappointed to see Reid go, we are intrigued by the rocker he'd like to see fill his judge's chair.

"My choice would be like Jon Bon Jovi," he said. Interesting!

The decision to leave seems to be a smart move, at least financially! Of all "The X Factor" singers that Reid had signed from the first season, only rapper Chris Rene has pulled in any significant numbers. His first single, "Young Homie," sold 290,000 copies.

Reid's departure will certainly change up the dynamic for season three of the show. Since fellow judge Britney Spears only signed a one-year contract, it looks like Simon Cowell may have to be looking for two replacements! Carly Rae Jepsen, anyone?

The show is bad as bad can be. Why they thought Brittney Demi and Reid would be good judges and putting Mario and Chloe on the stage to all be centered around bad talent is beyond me. AI ran its course and so has X factor. The Voice has the best talent but the worse winners.

It may appear AI has run it's course, but they are still bringing in thirty plus million viewers. That may all end however, since Nicki Minaj is now a judge. I cannot imagine that she would be anything but Jerry Springer material. I think she might have a hard time remembering that it is not all about her, but the contestants.

I hate to see L.A leave the show. I hope Simon will replace Britney, she doesn't have much to say. I would especially like for Simon to get a new host for the show, or just get rid of the female host.

Carly Rae Jepsen? Isn't she a one-hit wonder? Why not try Chaka Khan, I heard she reached out to American Idol executives and never got a call back (apparently because they preferred Nikki Minaj)
