Justin Bieber, Manny Pacquiao: Teen Star Faces Philippines Ban After Dissing Boxer

Justin Bieber messed with the wrong national hero. The teen star has been threatened with a ban from the Philippines after dissing the country's world-champion boxing legend and congressman, Manny Pacquiao.

On Dec. 8, Pacquiao faced a defeat by knock out to rival Juan Manuel Márquez. Bieber, a big fan of boxing, took the opportunity to kick Manny while he was down, posting images to his Instagram account of Manny after the blow.

The images were altered and one featured an image of Simba from Disney's "The Lion King" pushing on Pacquiao, urging him to get up. This is from the scene in the animated film where Simba realizes his dad, King Mufasa, is dead after being flung from a cliff by Scar. The other image captures the boxer on his way down to the ground with a screenshot of Michael Jackson's gravity defying lean from his "Smooth Criminal" video mirroring the fall.

The Filipino congress was not amused. "Mr. Bieber should have known that the Hon. Pacquiao has reached his stature as such as a result of sheer hard work, determination and firm belief in God," a collection of seven congressmen said in a statement, according to Yahoo. "And despite such stature best exemplifies humility and grace even in defeat."

The congressmen are demanding an apology from Bieber for his "distasteful comments," or else face being "declared persona non grata."

Pacquiao himself released a statement saying he would pray for Bieber.

Maybe Mr. Bieber needs a lesson in humility.

Beiber shouldn't be concerned about a country whose leading occupation is prostitution & it's leading export are its citizens looking to flee the wide spread poverty.

He always has this **** eating sneer and slants his eyes. What an arrogant little snot nose. Someone needs to slap that look off his face.

I'll never understand why he's so ungrateful for his opportunity that he runs his mouth without considering the effect, and thew his hamster away like it was trash. He sucks
