Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block $5 Million Lawsuit: Judge Dismisses Case

Case closed!

TMZ reports that a $5 million lawsuit that was filed by an injured stagehand earlier this year against New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys has been dismissed by a judge.

In July 2011, stagehand William Wesley Styron sued the groups for injuries, including a brain trauma and fractured skull, that he suffered after falling through a hole on the stage.

According to the gossip site, NKOTBSB denied Styron's claims, saying "it wasn't their fault Styron didn't see the huge hole in front of him."

Indeed, the judge ruled that the responsibility for the accident lies with the production company who hired him, not the boy bands.

The judge was quoted as saying regarding NKOTBSB and the case, "they owed no duty to plaintiff that was breached when he was injured."
