Britney Spears Restraining Order Lawsuit Exposed as Hoax

Britney Spears restraining orderEvan Agostini, AP

It turns out Christopher Federline isn't out to hurt his ex-sister-in-law after all. The SmokingGun.com reveals that legal papers filed against Britney Spears in Federline's name were actually the work of Jonathan Lee Riches, a conman who was recently released from jail.

The forged papers stated that Christopher Federline was the "true father" of the pop star's oldest son, Sean Preston, whom she and Christopher's brother, Kevin Federline welcomed seven years ago. The plaintiff also asked for a restraining order against Spears, alleging that she had stolen his credit card and then blackmailed and harassed him.

The Federline family has now reportedly launched a private investigation into the matter, to find out how Riches obtained confidential information about Kevin and how he was able to so accurately forge Christopher's signature.

Riches has a long, demented history of similar crimes. He was most recently arrested for posing as Adam Lanza's uncle, giving interviews to media gathered outside Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, where Lanza killed 26 people on Dec. 12. The conman is also serving five years probation for conspiracy and wire fraud. TheSmokingGun.com further reports that Riches filed hundreds of fake lawsuits from prison.

It's hilarious that when this story was first reported a couple of days ago over 1,000 people commented, and the ones I read stated how Federline was everything from gutter trash to disgusting money grubbing dog etc. My thought was it didn't seem real since he mentioned such ridiculous things about himself. Now that the facts are out and this was a hoax, (something common sense should have told the posters), maybe people will stop believing every single thing they read without putting a little thought behind it. On the other hand, I do love reading people go off about something that is obviously not true to a teenager, which says a lot about adults. Duh.

Time for police and courts to recognize the warning signs of this nutjob and put him away for good because, clearly, he's so unbalanced that no telling what he'll do next. I think going to Newtown and posing as a relative of one of the dead children should be enough to get this guy admitted into a psycho ward somewhere. What does someone have to do, short of mass murdering people, to get law enforcement's and the court's attention?

On your point: The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) will prevent this from happening
as they have done so many times in the past. This is one of the reasons the mentally
unstable are out amongst the standard population because the ACLU has taken to court
any municipality or county or state that has involuntarily committed individuals into mental
institutions for uncivilized, or dangerous, behavior. I do not understand how they won their
cases but they did. The ACLU can be more of a curse than a blessing.

Re-read the story, he posed as the killers uncle. How sick is that? You're right, they should lock him up for good.
