In a tragic turn of events, a photographer was killed yesterday (Jan 1.) while attempting to take photos of Justin Bieber's Ferrari. TMZ reports that the paparazzi was following the well-known white sports car when it was pulled over by the police in Los Angeles on Sepulveda Boulevard near the Getty Center.

The photographer got out of his car in the busy traffic area to take photos of the stop, although the police asked him to return to his vehicle due to the unsafe conditions. However, despite warnings he was knocked down and killed by an oncoming car.

It has been confirmed that Justin wasn't in the vehicle at the time and that two of his friends were driving the sports car. Nevertheless the "Baby" hitmaker released a statement expressing his condolences for the deceased photographer.

"While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim. Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves," the 18-year-old pop star said (via The Sun).

Miley Cyrus has also sounded off on the incident on her Twitter account, posting a series of tweets blaming the chaotic behavior of paparazzi for accidents like this one, and shaming the fame-hunters for putting the blame on Bieber's conscience. The singer even references Princess Diana's tragic death in a paparazzi car chase.

Police continue to investigate the death but initial reports indicate that drugs and alcohol were not involved.

i understand you point because media is out of control but it isn't beibers responsibilty nor the ones driving his car that the photgrapher did not listen to the police when they told him to stay out of the way before he got hurt. can't place blame on someone when its the persons fault for not heeding warnings.

As much as I want to feel bad about the loss of life, as much as I want to mourn the death of the photographer... I can't. They were the ones who ignored police orders, crossed a busy road where they knew full well there was a risk of being hit, and then got hit, all in the persuit of a photo of a car of a celebrity that the celebrity wasn't even driving. He made a decision and it ended badly... this is why we need to just stop, take a breath, and realise that this can't keep happening. Yes we like celebrities, but we don't need photos of them driving. We don't need photos of them at the mall. We don't need this. Papparazzi killed Princess Diana, they almost killed Bieber once, now one of their own has been killed in the persuit of a pointless photo. Enough

Goes to show you what links a person will go to , too get a story or a photo. Not a very wise decision coming from an "adult" chasing a teenager.
