Kris Allen car accident, having a babyTwitter

Maybe Kris Allen already knows his high and low point of 2013?

Just as the new year was being celebrated, the Season 8 "American Idol" alum tweeted to fans that he was in the hospital after getting into a car accident with his wife Katy and dog, Zorro. The singer had a few injuries, but assured fans he was OK.

"Thank you @ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @ZorroPup and the little one we have on the way safe," he wrote, referring to his pregnant wife. "Yes I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I'm having a lil baby. #gonnabeadad."

Despite the wreck, Kris said his injuries won't affect his Out Alive tour, which kicks off in Killington, VT on Jan. 8.

"Don't worry everyone I may have broken my wrist but the #OutAliveTour is still on," he wrote.

Kris' mom, Kimberly, tweeted a pic of her son, writing, "From Kris: he's in a lot of pain, arm broke, may not play guitar for a while. Prayers welcome please! #headoncollision."

Kimberly was thankful that her son, daughter-in-law and their new baby were doing just fine.

"Kristopher and Katy are both pretty beat up but ALIVE! Thank you Jesus! They are setting his arm now and will have surgery tomorrow," she tweeted, adding, "Zorro is fine too! Very shook up, but not injured."

We wish the best to Kris and his family.
