Is Cher returning to TV?

It looks that way, as Logo cable channel executives revealed yesterday (Dec. 5) that the icon is working on a top-secret project with the network at a Television Critics Association presentation.

The channel's senior vice president, Brent Zacky, didn't share if Cher will star in the show, but confirmed that she is working with comedy writer Ron Zimmerman on a pilot script set in 1960s Hollywood.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Zacky said, "We read some of the stuff that Cher and Ron had written and it was really terrific. We came up with an idea set in Hollywood in the early '60s and we're very excited to see how we get through the process. The deal is brand-new and we're just getting started on the project ... We're certainly excited to be in business with an icon like Cher and Ron, who is a terrific writer."

Logo channel is aimed at the lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

Cher appeared on TV in the 1970s, when she starred in "The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour" with then-husband Sonny Bono.
