Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj Fight: Singer Admits She Hired 'More Security' Following Spat (VIDEO)

The Season 12 premiere of "American Idol" is just days away, so you know what that means ... time for Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj to hash out that three month-old feud!

"It felt like an unsafe work environment," Mariah tells Barbara Walters in a new ABC News interview. "Anytime anybody's reeling threats at somebody, you know, that's just -- it's not appropriate. I've got two babies. I'm not going to take any chances. Yeah, I did hire more security. I just felt it was the appropriate thing to do."

Mariah is, of course, referring to a screaming match that broke out between herself and fellow new judge Nicki while filming at a North Carolina audition back in October 2012. As if the video footage wasn't enough, Mariah claimed that when the camera's weren't rolling, Minaj threatened her saying, "If I had a gun, I would shoot that f---ing b---h."

Everyone and their mother got drag into the mess, including former judge Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks and even President Barack Obama.

Whether it's for real or for ratings, we're guessing the MiMi vs. Nicki drama isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Season 12 of "American Idol" premieres Jan. 16 on FOX at 8PM ET. Until then, watch Mariah's interview with Walters below.
