According to his obituary on Legacy.com, June served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and worked as a police officer for the Baton Rouge City Police in Louisiana.
He is survived by 10 children, 24 grandchildren (including Britney and her two siblings, Bryan and Jamie Lynn), and 12 great-grandchildren (including Britney's sons, Sean and Jayden).
Britney is reportedly devastated by his death. A source tells the National Enquirer, "Britney was inconsolable. She knew that he wasn't getting around as much, but she had no idea that he was near death. Britney called him 'PaPa June' and she was very close to him ... [She] started a scrapbook of all her childhood photos and the letters that PaPa June sent over the years. She's even written a song about him."
Brit's little sister, Jamie Lynn, tweeted her sadness over the news. "Gonna miss you Paw-Paw June... I know your watching over us now tho," she posted on Dec. 22.
