The couple were married in 2009 and have been trying for a child ever since. In her 2011 memoir A Helluva a High Note, DioGuardi describes how pregnancy eluded them, and that after three unsuccessful rounds of IFV treatments she knew she had to make a change.
"I wanted a child and there was no way I could get pregnant under the stress of 18-hour work days and live TV," she writes.
"Leaving ["American Idol"] was painful and there will always be a part of me that wanted to stay. But my desire to be in control of my destiny was larger than my need to be a household name."
People Magazine says the couple have even picked out a name: Greyson James Carroll McCuddy. Best wishes to the them both!
