The actor's 23-year-old son served as Mr. Golden Globe at this year's awards ceremony, where Best Original Song nominee Taylor, 23, was in attendance.
At one point during the night, co-host Tina Fey hilariously warned the notorious serial-dating songstress to stay away from Sam. "Or go for it," fellow host Amy Poehler contradicted. "No, she needs some 'me time' to learn about herself," Tina insisted.
Vulture asked Michael J. Fox if he'd approve of a potential Taylor-Sam hookup. "No. No ... Just back off," he said, before admitting, "I don't keep up with it all, but Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right?"
True, Michael, Taylor is known as the queen of the not-so-subtle breakup hit.
"What a way to build a career," he says. But, if Sam turned up at the end of the night with the starlet on his arm? "I wouldn't even know who she was," Fox said. That is, until he heard her breakup song, "Sam, You Piece of Shit," on the radio. "Oh ... that was the girl you brought home!"
UPDATE (1/18/13): Taylor apparently had a talk with papa Fox about the beef and tweeted the following update to her fans; "Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good. Thank you for having my back."
