Beyonce Lip Synching Confirmed, Inaugural Official: 'She Did Not Sing Live'

Beyonce National Anthem Lip Sync ConfirmedPablo Martinez Monsivais, AP

Beyonce did lip sync the National Anthem, according to an Inauguration official who spoke to CNN.

"She did not sing live," said the official, who refused to reveal their identity. A prerecorded version of the "Star Spangled Banner" was played instead, and that's what people heard.

According to the official, the decision was made by Beyonce herself, and might have been informed by her late arrival on Sunday, which didn't allot her enough time to rehearse with the U.S. Marine Band.

Why didn't she just sing the anthem live period ac cappella. She's a professional singer. It's really a bad choice on her part. Obviously not too confident in herself. Also an insult for that days events, lip synching at a presidental Inaugural. If she couldn't sing it live then she should not have done the gig knowing that she could not reherse with the band. What a shame to our country!! Now she is gonna perform the half time show at the superbowl, I wonder.....hmmmmm what that is gonna be like.

So and unidentified "official" confirmed this? Really? Well, if they're an official, then why not confirm their identity? This whole ridiculous media hyped scandal has just run it's course. My question is this, on a day like the president being inaugurated, would reporters try looking for a story about a wonderful singer like Beyonce using playback when there were bigger stories to follow? Why would a band member seek out a reporter to say something like this in the first place? It all sounds fishy and truthfully a non-story. What...was Beyonce getting too much publicity and Kelly Clarkson wasn't and Beyonce had to be taken down a notch? Regardless of the reasoning, it was her voice singing and enough already.
