Adam Levine, 'SNL': Singer Goes Shirtless During Show's Monologue

NBC

Adam Levine hosted "Saturday Night Live" last night (Jan. 26) and found himself in a familiar setting during his opening monologue -- a look-alike set of "The Voice," where he normally serves as a coach.

This time though, Andy Samberg, Cameron Diaz and Jerry Seinfeld tried to serve as Levine's comedy coaches and offer hosting advice to him. Diaz's advice?

"First thing you should do as a host ... take off your shirt. Lose the shirt!" she said. But Seinfeld countered, "Please whatever you do ... don't take your shirt off."

But it was too late -- Levine stripped down shirtless as the audience cheered.

Levine, who called hosting a "tremendous honor," also joined musical guest Kendrick Lamar to sing a new song with The Lonely Island. Titled "YOLO," the track is about living your (one) life cautiously. It's also already on sale on iTunes.

Take a look at the recap videos below.

So does that mean that Cameron Diaz is going to be Adam Levine’s hosting coach, because I would have gone with Seinfeld. I was really hoping that we would get to see a new short from The Lonely Island when Samberg popped up during the monologue, and YOLO did not disappoint. I was talking to a coworker at DISH today who thought that their other songs were better, but I like this new one as much as some of the others. I fell asleep after weekend update, but thankfully I was able to catch the rest with a recording. I love how my DISH Hopper allows me to start watching my show in one room and then finish watching in another, but I never stay awake for longer than 30 min after I move to my bedroom. I am glad that I caught the end because Kendrik’s performance of Poetic Justice was amazing!
