Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett Collaboration Confirmed: Mother Monster Has a New Jazz Album in the Works (VIDEO)

Mother Monster never fails to keep her fans on their toes. Lady Gaga has confirmed that she and legendary crooner Tony Bennett are collaborating on a jazz-influenced album of love songs, complete with a swing band.

Bennett, 86 years young, made an appearance during Gaga's performance at the final inaugural ball for President Obama last week, fueling the fire of pre-existing rumors that the pop star and the jazz singer were making music together. After Gaga performed with Bennett at the Inaugural Ball, (where she referred to him as her "handsome date"), she confirmed to fans that an album was on its way. The pop star tweeted, "I simply cannot wait for our album together, he's my darling!"

Get a taste of the upcoming collaboration with the video for Gaga and Bennet's 2011 cover of the classic song, "The Lady Is a Tramp," after the jump.

Bennett has publicly praised Gaga as "one of the best jazz singers that anyone's ever heard," which is not surprising: the "Born This Way" singer/songwriter has shown off her chops in live performances stripped down to just her voice and piano countless times, proving herself to be more than just a pop star with a unique taste for avant-garde fashion.

This isn't the first time the two have collaborated, although the last time was a bit more controversial -- Gaga posed nude for a drawing drawn and signed by the jazz singer, which sold at auction for $30,000 in 2011.

An "unusual" sound? You mean it will sound more like actual music?

How about your croaking voice? You couldn't even sing like the Buckinghams, a great 1960s group. It's kind of a drag, don't you care?
