Back in 2009, Miley Cyrus packed up her dream and cardigan and blasted through our airwaves with "Party in the U.S.A." Despite her apprehension about fitting in in the land of fame and excess, the "Hannah Montana" star solidified the track as a feel-good anthem.

Little known to Miley fans is the fact that the hit was written by another pop songstress -- Jessie J!

Back then, Jessie J was Jessica Cornish, an undiscovered singer-songwriter. Cornish co-wrote the song with Claude Kelly, who leaked a 30-second snippet of her singing the demo version.

"in the studio with Jessie J reminiscing about how it ALL got started," Claude posted on his SoundCloud page. "Pea, Moonhead and the incredible Coconut Man. this is the first song we ever did. i guess we did ok, right?"

Listen to Jessie J singing "Party in the U.S.A." (with slightly different lyrics!) in the clip below.
