The guys of One Direction are used to visiting with sick fans or seeing tear-jerking situations, but nothing could really prepare them for a recent visit to Princess Marie Louise Children's Hospital in Accra, Ghana.

The boys stopped by to bring awareness for UK's Comic Relief, in hopes of raising more money for children who need simple vaccinations for conditions like diarrhea and pneumonia.

Visiting with babies under the age of 1, all the guys seemed visibly upset, but member Zayn Malik was brought to tears by the visit.

"It's so hard," he tells the cameras, wiping away tears. "I've never seen anything like this, never experienced anything like this in my life. The babies aren't even a year old. And it costs five pounds. You just have to pick up the phone. That's all you have to do."

Zayn begs to the viewers to find it in their hearts to donate, and voiced his frustration over babies being deathly ill for problems that can be solved.

"It's just a simple vaccination," Zayn vents. "This is why it's ridiculous, because it only costs five pounds."

Zayn wasn't the only affected by the visit. Louis Tomlinson added that the experience was "probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do." Niall Horan said seeing what was going on is "crazy."

Besides the hospital visit, the guys also released a cover of Blondie's "One Way or Another" and the Undertones' "Teenage Kicks" with proceeds going to Comic Relief. Both songs are available on iTunes.
