Lady Gaga, Hip Surgery: Singer Pens Emotional Letter to Fans After Operation

Lady Gaga definitely isn't hiding behind her p-p-poker face! After undergoing hip surgery to repair an onstage injury, Mother Monster reached out to her fans to thank them for their support.

On Feb. 20, just hours after her operation, the singer posted an emotional letter on her website crediting her "Little Monsters" for inspiring her to stay strong.

"Everything happened so fast, but when it came time to face it I reflected on the many stories and experiences you've shared with me about your lives," Gaga wrote. "Meeting you backstage, reading your letters, watching you communicate with fans from around the globe to form a community that supports one another -- You have completely blown my mind."

The "Bad Romance" singer used the opportunity to address some political issues as well.

"As they wheeled me into surgery today, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance, your unique family situations, school environments, health issues, homelessness, identity struggles -- sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me," she wrote. "I wonder how it's even possible. So I thought to myself, I'm alive, I'm living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road."

Gaga is known for her dedicated fanbase and she ended the letter by reminding them how much they have impacted her.

"You have changed my life," she said. "I love you and am proud to be a part of your lives. If you can do it, I can do it too, and if we stick together we can get through anything."

Sometimes God slows us down and points us in a different direction for some very good reasons. A lot of the time, those reasons are momentarily hidden from us. In cases like this, it is sometimes better to take the process for what it is and take as much away from the experience as you can. We can learn valuable lessons from even the darkest of times. I've learned a lot from watching Rivers Cuomo from Weezer. Weezer was at the top of their game, with a hit record or 2 under their belts. Rather than forging full steam ahead, Rivers took some time off and went back to school. When he decided to play again,Weezer was as big as they had ever been and their fans were happy for their return.

LA GA, YOISH! You have earned being referenced as artist, I know you braved your evolution into GaGaism confronting personal challenges, hard work, and incredible tenacity. I am way outside your usual demographic but can appreciate individuals who not only perform but confront and force us to do likewise. Now for gosh sake, get it moving again, given what you've achieved I'd expect your back in action mid March, or if your want to take time to indulge yourself, not later than Mid March. Whatdoyathink LA GA? >>>>>>>>>respectfully moi.

. I'm afraid that I have to disagree with you panhermes. The type of injury that she has can take a very long time to heal, from what I understand, 8 months or more. In this case, the best course of action is to let the injury heal COMPLETELY, as it is very possible to reinjure the tendons. She would not want to make matters worse, by rushing back to work.
