Hey, You Stole My Look: Lady Gaga Channels the Iconic Grace Jones

Lady Gaga grace jonesGetty Images

This isn't the first time Lady Gaga has been compared to one of her legendary female predecessors, and it probably won't be the last. The pop star is known for her eccentric costumes, and this face mask/hat number is no exception. But we swear we've seen a similar look on another musician somewhere before ... singer/model Grace Jones of course!

The Studio 54 icon herself has even commented on how she has, well, inspired Gaga's theatrical sense of style. "I'd just prefer to work with someone who is not copying me, actually," Jones told The Guardian in 2010. "I've seen some things she's worn that I've worn, and that does kind of piss me off." You know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

Olly Murs: 'Right Place Right Time' Creator Talks 'Superstitious' Career Start, Cracking America & More -- In House Exclusive

Olly Murs right place right timeNoam Galai, AOL

"Trust me," Olly Murs tells us during our exclusive In House interview, "When I was told I'd be writing my own album, I was completely -- mind my French -- s---ting myself."

"You know, you're not just writing in your bedroom, you're actually giving someone a CD and saying, 'Can you sell this to the U.K., or to Europe, or the world?' So it was a completely different thing for me and I learned on the job."

You see, before finding fame as the runner-up on Season 6 of "The X Factor U.K." in 2009, Olly had no previous vocal or musical training. In the span of three short years, the 28-year-old singer scored a No. 2 album with his self-titled debut, a No. 1 with his follow up, In Case You Didn't Know, and his recently released third album, Right Place Right Time, has given him his second U.K. chart-topper.

But before a career in music ever crossed his mind, Olly was convinced he was destined to be a soccer player -- or a footballer, as non-Americans say. He played semi-professionally until a devastating knee injury dashed his dreams of football stardom and sent him traveling on a whim to Australia. He eventually came home and decided to try his luck auditioning for "The X Factor."

Madonna may be raising two adopted children from Malawi, but the African country's Education Minister insists the pop icon's Raising Malawi charity organization had much less to do with the opening of new schools in the country than the singer may lead on.

Madonna's charity teamed up with the non-profit school-building organization, buildOn, to construct 10 new primary schools for over 4,800 students in rural villages. After construction was complete in December 2012, Madonna released a statement on the Raising Malawi website.

"I am overjoyed that my commitment along with buildOn's to help educate the children of Malawi has come to fruition," the singer said. "The fact that more than 4,800 children in Malawi will get to go to school next year is a tremendous step forward for their individual growth and the growth of Malawi."

However, Malawian Education Minister Eunice Kazembe tells the U.K.'s The Independent that the pop star has been misleading the public about the reality of her involvement in the new schools.

If Taylor Swift had any thoughts about swooping up actor Michael J. Fox's son Sam after Sunday night's (Jan. 13) Golden Globe Awards, she better think again!

The actor's 23-year-old son served as Mr. Golden Globe at this year's awards ceremony, where Best Original Song nominee Taylor, 23, was in attendance.

At one point during the night, co-host Tina Fey hilariously warned the notorious serial-dating songstress to stay away from Sam. "Or go for it," fellow host Amy Poehler contradicted. "No, she needs some 'me time' to learn about herself," Tina insisted.

The Jan. 16 show marked the first time Mayer has sung live in-concert since April 1, 2011. "I don't have a ton of range ... I'm a 70-year-old version of myself," Mayer told the crowd. "Lower your expectations."
