If you happened to catch "Saturday Night Live" in recent weeks, you might have laughed out loud at arguably one of the funniest political spoofs of the year. In a hilarious "Weekend Update" sketch, "SNL" newbie Kate McKinnon portrays a visibly miffed Ann Romney
, lamenting that the Obamas get to hang out with Beyonce
and Jay-Z, while she's stuck lunching with actor John Voight!
To be fair, the Republican party does
have some A-list musical supporters cooler than Jon Voight, and they -- like Beyonce -- have played interesting rolls in recent political campaigns. Click through our gallery below to see the pop stars, rockers and country crooners who've thrown their hats in the political ring ... and in doing so, may just have affected more than one election!

The 2012 MTV VMAs
are upon us and if we've learned anything from VMA red carpets
of the past -- expect the unexpected! Remember, this is the awards show that just last year had Lady Gaga appearing in drag
and Beyonce revealing her baby bump

this year? Check out all the stylish (and wacky) fashion moments in the gallery below!
Say what you want about Miley Cyrus
, but the girl is definitely not boring! Over the weekend (Aug. 12), the former Disney darling shocked even her most diehard fans when she posted photos on her Twitter account of a dramatic new 'do. In the shots, Miley shows off a shockingly short pixie cut with a buzzed side. "Never felt more me in my whole life," Miley tweeted after posting. "Someone just told me im prettier than Miley Cyrus." Naturally, the singer's new look drew criticism from many on the web, to which Cyrus replied: "my dad @billyraycyrus used to tell me "opinions are are like ass holes every body has one" LOVE my hair. feel so happy, pretty, and free."

Like the rest of us, musicians from across all genres were shocked and saddened by the tragic theater shooting
that occurred in Aurora, Colorado
earlier today (July 20). As soon as news hit that a masked gunman opened fire during a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises," killing 12 and wounding at least 50, celebrities took to Twitter
to express a range of horrified emotions. We've begun compiling them below and will update throughout the day.
As the tattooed frontman of Maroon 5
, Adam Levine
is the epitome of cool. But during his time at the Brentwood School in Los Angeles, the singer reveals he was anything but Mr. Popular! "I was very uncool, had disgusting long hair and shorts down to [to my knees], cut off shorts -- I desperately wanted to be Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam really badly, and I was just a nerdy, awkward kid and I was obsessed with music," Levine tells Access Hollywood. "And eventually, once I realized that singing was something that girls like, which I didn't know about really, [it became], just kind of 'Wow... Oh my God, girls like this! I'm shocked!' So I kept doing it -- maybe for that reason (laughs)."
