Back to '90s Musicians We Wish Would Make a Comeback
Beck

True confession time here folks, Beck was my senior quote in the high school yearbook. I can still recite it now. "Lay it all to the dawn. Everything we know is wrong. I'll be lonesome when I'm gone. Lay it all to the dawn." What exactly does that mean? Well to my 18-year-old self, it perfectly encapsulated the feeling of moving on from one part of my life and starting something new and scary. That was the beauty of Beck back then. He was just alternative enough to make you feel edgy and cooler than your classmates -- but still had a soulful sound and lyrics that could cut right to the heart of the matter. -- Sarah Chazan
