Long before the world knew the name "Lady Gaga," Stefani Germanotta was just a NYU student who spent many nights singing at NYC's The Bitter End. A nightclub located in Greenwich Village, Gaga performed there in 2006, and by 2007, she was signed to a label. Gaga's not the only one who got lucky after performing there. Vanessa Carlton, Avril Lavigne and Lana Del Ray were all participants at the New York Songwriters Circle, which is held at The Bitter End.
