George Michael and '90s Supermodels

While George Michael wasn't the first singer to put a supermodel in a music video, his 1990 uber-collaboration, including some of the undisputed biggest names in catwalk history, was as momentous a marriage of fashion and music as any. Michael's David Fincher-directed "Freedom! '90" music video starred the likes of Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Tatjana Patitz and Linda Evangelista -- all in one six minute and 36-second clip. This was also the same year that Evangelista uttered easily the most notorious quote in modeling history to VOGUE: "We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day."

Michael was just as in awe of this brazen new breed of celebrity as the rest of the world, and it was actually a group photo of the five aforementioned supers on the 1990 cover of British VOGUE that inspired Michael to create a spin-off music video with the very same ladies. Although he never met the famed photographer behind the image, Peter Lindbergh, George called the that cover the most beautiful photo of women he'd ever seen. His own adaptation of the image has become one of the sexiest music-fashion collaborations ever.
