Dave Grohl Hit the Campaign Trail With John Kerry

Dave Grohl from Nirvana and the Foo Fighters was such a staunch John Kerry supporter that he hit the road for the presidential candidate, playing at rallies across the country. Despite the fact that Kerry lost the election, the experience was an inspirational one for Grohl.

"A few of the songs [on In Your Honor] were written when I came home from the campaign trail," Dave told Spin Magazine after the election. "Every day, before he got up to speak, I'd go play acoustic music. And the audiences weren't Foo Fighters audiences. The front row was World War II veterans and teacher's unions and blue-collar workers. I came back from that so inspired by the people and the real emotion and the feeling of a small community all coming together for an honorable reason."
