Having been dubbed the rock 'n' roll star of season seven of American Idol, David Cook narrowly beat out competitor David Archuleta for the title of Idol in 2008. Cook went on to break numerous Billboard records, including most debuts on Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart with 14 entries, but revealed recently that he is currently without a recording contract.
