Back to Spiritual Singers: Musicians Who've Discussed Their Faith

The Black Eyed Peas singer was raised a devout Catholic and after taking a break from practicing religion, has found her faith again. In fact, Fergie credits God with helping her end her drug addiction. In a 2012 interview with Oprah, she recalled that she was so addicted to crystal meth, she was worried police were tracking her every move. "I started getting really paranoid," she recalls. "So I went one day into this church and I thought that the FBI and the SWAT teams were outside the church, so I had a conversation with God, and I said, "Alright, if I go out there and the FBI and the SWAT team's not out there, then it's the drugs and I'm stopping. I went outside of the church and there was no SWAT team, there was no FBI, just me and God. And I kept my promise. That day. That was it." Now, she says she and her husband, actor Josh Duhamel, go to church every weekend together. "It feeds our spiritual side, and it’s great to hear Josh sing in church -- he’s a great singer," she says.
